He graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1963. He served with the Army, the 709th MT BN, 9th Infantry Division, from 1965 until his Honorable Discharge in 1967. He was a Recovery Specialist during his time in Vietnam – operating the tanks that rescued tanks. He is a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

Bob began working for the White Plains Police Department as a Patrolman in 1969 until his retirement in 1989. In 1981, he received an Award of Merit, for Distinguished Police Performance.

During his retirement in Florida, Bob worked for the City of Boca Raton as a Park Ranger and subsequently for Watkins Motor Lines for many years.

His friends and family fondly remember his gentle and compassionate nature, his fondness for Hot Dogs and Pizza, his loyalty to the New York Yankees and his love of the game of Golf. He was especially proud when he shot a Hole in One at Lucerne Lakes Golf Course on Hole #7 - 172 Yards with a 5 Iron in 1999. He was known (and admired) for his beautiful golf swing.
