We are saddened to announce the passing of Robert James Brown (Toby) born on September 13, 1946, in Paterson, New Jersey, who passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Toby was a beloved & devoted husband to his wife, Elsa and stepson Ralston for over 49 years. He was also a loving grandfather, son, brother and uncle to the rest of his family.

Robert (Toby), a proud American Veteran, served his country with honor when he was drafted during the Vietnam War, and when he returned home, he carried that same spirit of service into everyday life. Whether it was helping elderly neighbors by taking them shopping or showing up with a smile when someone needed him.

Those who knew Toby in Paterson & Delray Beach will remember him for his boundless humor and generous heart. He had a gift for laughter—always cracking jokes, lightening heavy moments, and leaving everyone around him with a smile.

Toby's legacy is one of service, laughter, and love. He leaves behind a family who adored him, a community made better by his kindness, and memories that will continue to inspire smiles for years to come.

As we say goodbye, we hold close the countless memories he gave us. He gave us the gift of laughter and the gift of love—and those gifts will never fade. May he rest in peace, knowing the impact of his life lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 9:30am to 10:30am with a Funeral Service at 10:30am at Lorne and Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33483. Burial will follow at 12:30pm in Lane 1 at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 S. State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33449. Following the burial, all are invited to join in a repast honoring Toby's life at the Coral Trace Club House in Delray Beach starting at 2:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in Toby's memory to The Veterans of Foreign Wars .
