Robert Kraft, of Briny Breezes, Florida passed away on September 22, 2015. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to Ida and Joseph Kraft. At the age of eleven, Robert became a snowbird when his father, an avid fisherman, was told about the great fishing near the new development of Briny Breezes. Robert attended Boynton Beach schools in the winter and Detroit schools in the spring and fall. After graduation from high school, he joined the Navy near the end of World War II. Following his naval service, Robert attended the University of Michigan where he majored in English literature. After graduating from U of M, Robert began his career in education in the Detroit school system. In 1957 he married Evelyn, his wife of 58 years. Soon after they retired, they moved back to Briny Breezes, the place he has always considered home. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn, his sister Shirley and his parents. He is survived by his cousins.
Friends may call on Monday, September 28, 2015 from 10:15AM to 11AM at the Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Avenue (North Federal Highway), Delray Beach with an 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida.
