Robert J. McCarthy of Boynton Beach, FL and CT passed away February 8, 2021 in Boynton Beach, FL. He was born in Waterbury, CT on April 5, 1936, son of the late Thomas F. McCarthy and Helen Roach McCarthy and has resided in FL since 1999. He graduated from Providence College and was an Army veteran serving in Korea. Bob spent his banking career in Connecticut beginning at Hartford National Bank and retired from Fleet Bank, now known as Bank of America.

He enjoyed digital photography and volunteering in his community of Palm Beach Leisureville in Boynton Beach.

Bob is predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Carol with whom he enjoyed many years of traveling. He is also survived by devoted daughters, Diane McCarthy and Maureen Gacek and much-loved grandchildren, Andrew Gacek and fiancée Krista Pereira and Adam Gacek all of CT, also by his brother, Thomas F. McCarthy of Murrieta, CA and many family members that were very dear to him.

Funeral services with military honors will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, 10AM at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 State Road 7/441, Lake Worth, FL 33449, Lane 5. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date in Connecticut.
