Ronald Jones, 64, adoringly known to all as Rod/Roddy/Rodney, passed away on December 2, 2021, surrounded by a loving family.

Rod, a native of Delray, had a passion for the water from the day he was born. Early in his life, Rod would spend his days water skiing on Lake Ida or boating in the beautiful waters of South Florida. As Rod grew, his adventures on the water would take him further from home and he spent many a day living on 'Bahamas Time' at his family's vacation home on Bimini. Later in life, he had many incredible voyages which included adventures in Bermuda, Cuba and Guatemala and was punctuated by a once-in-a-lifetime voyage navigating his prized vessel Widgeon from Mexico back to Delray. You could say when he was on land, he was a fish out of water.

Rod's family was the pride and joy of his life. Whether it was taking his wife Patty out for their weekly 'date night', spending a day fishing with Hunter, or watching a favorite movie on the couch with Cassandra, Rod's family was everything to him.

Rod, the son of Patricia Louise (Marco) Jones and James Ellwood Jones, is survived by his wife, Patty Jones and his loving children, Hunter and Cassandra; his brothers and sisters that include Barbara (Henry) Hirvela; nephews Jeff Hirvela and Eric Hirvela; and a core group of lifelong friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6 ^th Ave., Delray Beach.  Funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 188 S. Swinton Ave, Delray Beach.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Old School Square or Bethesda Hospital East.
