Ronald A. Hegland, 69, of Boynton Beach, FL and formerly of Petoskey, MI and Milford, MI passed away November 17, 2019.

Originally born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Ron graduated from Onalaska High School in 1968.  He went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin in 1972 later earning a Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University.

After college, Ron worked in Automotive OEM Research and Development at Inmont in Whitehouse, OH.  He then moved to Southfield, MI to work at BASF and later worked at Chrysler in automotive supplier quality.  He was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers.

Ron's kindness, integrity and faith were evident throughout his life.  He was an active member of Kirk in the Hills Presbyterian Church in Bloomfield Hills, MI and after his move to Florida was a member at Boynton Beach Community Church.

Ron loved cycling, racquet ball and travelling.  He was a member of the American Wine Society and participated in wine tastings.  He enjoyed fine dining and for years took part in a dinner group with Michigan friends.

Ron is survived by his wife, Marlene and his stepsons, Gary (Amanda) Boyd and Craig (Danielle) Boyd as well as four adorable grandchildren, Stephanie, Ava, Brianna and Colten and several cousins in Wisconsin and Washington.

A memorial service will be held at Lorne and Sons Funeral Home, 745 N.E. 6 ^th Ave., Delray Beach, FL 33483 on Saturday, November 23 ^rd at 12:00 noon.  Following the service, the family will be receiving friends at their home for a gathering from 2-5 PM.
