Obituary

Rose Marie Goldberg (Delia), 91, of Delray Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on January 27, 2023 with her family by her side.  Rosie, as she was known by family and friends, was born in Syracuse, New York on April 1, 1931 to Frank and Nicoletta Delia.

Rosie was predeceased by the love of her life, her loving husband, E. Richard Goldberg in 1995, and all of her siblings, Joseph Delia, Angeline Salatte (Ralph), John Delia (Mary), Frank Delia (Catherine), James Delia (Ruth), Arthur Delia (Theresa), Lena Ryan (Harvey), Mary Collins (Denis), Tony Delia (Frances), and Richard Delia (Marie), all of whom she loved dearly.

Rosie is survived by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mike and Joy Moss, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Rosie was a wonderful wife, sister, aunt and friend.  She cherished every day, and shared her amazing smile, love and laughter with everyone she met.

In her early years of marriage, she lived in Laguna Beach, CA with her husband and mother.  Rosie and Richard owned a restaurant and clothing store, and were active in their community.  At their restaurant, she was known for her famous cheesecake.  Rosie also lived in Hawaii for many years, and then returned to Manlius and Cazenovia, NY where she and Dick hosted many holidays and parties sharing her love for cooking and family.  Rosie and Dick ultimately ended up in Delray Beach where she spent her last years with her husband and best friend, caring for him until his death in 1995.  She especially enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her family and friends.  Rosie was very active in her Church no matter where she lived, attended daily mass and actively helped spread the Lord's word and His work by being an active member in the Ladies Guild, bringing communion to the sick/home bound, and was a Eucharistic Minister for the Emmanuel Catholic Church in Delray Beach.

When her husband passed, Rosie went back to work at Mario's of Boca as a hostess.  She always called the owners and staff "her family at Mario's" truly making her feel at home and she made many wonderful friends.  She loved her job there, loved cooking, but especially loved baking.  Anyone that knew her knows of the incredible desserts she made, and each was made with the special kind of love she shared with all.

Thank you to the staff at Thornton Gardens, Advent Health Hospice and Orchid Cove of Kissimmee for the great care and comfort you all gave to Rosie.

The family will be receiving guests on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 15700 South Military Trail, Delray Beach, FL 33484 followed by a 10:30am Funeral Mass.  Burial will follow at the Boynton Beach Cemetery, 1611 South Seacrest Blvd, Boynton Beach, FL 33435.
