Obituary

Rose Martellacci, 94, of Delray Beach and formerly of Astoria, New York passed away on August 13, 2025.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rose Martellacci, beloved wife to Antonio, mother to Lena, Albert and Michael, grandmother to John Michael, Marisa, Alex and Nina, sister to Mary, to and mother-in-law to Monica, Natalie and Pierluigi and friend to many. Rose was born and raised in Astoria, New York, before moving to Delray Beach 30 years ago. She lived a remarkable 94 years, 60 of them alongside her devoted husband Antonio.

Rose was the strongest woman her family had ever known, meeting life's challenges head-on and persevering through numerous health battles with unwavering determination. She loved her family fiercely, raising three children and witnessing her grandchildren grow into adults.

Known for her quick wit, spirited humor, and boundless love, Rose cherished time with her family. Whether sharing laughs, playfully debating which child was her "favorite" or upholding family traditions. One of her greatest legacies was the tradition of "forced family fun" Christmas in Florida, packing 8 adults, 4 kids, and 3 dogs into a three-bedroom home for days filled with joy, chaos, and love.

Rose's presence will be deeply missed, but her lessons about the importance of family, staying connected no matter the distance, and cherishing moments together will live on. She leaves behind a family who will carry forward her traditions and her love.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, 11:00am at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 15700 S Military Trail, Delray Beach, FL 33484.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County , 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407.

May she rest in peace knowing that we will be okay,
and that her memory will forever bring warmth and laughter to our hearts.
