Russell Clarke Greene, 73, of Delray Beach Florida died peacefully on Thursday, December 19th 2013. He was born in Charleston SC on July 13th 1940.
Russell was a jokester. He always had a smile on his face and a joke from his heart. His jokes were endless in quantity and always entertaining in their quality. Russell was a selfless man who would do anything for anybody. His cheerful and outgoing attitude made him special to anyone who was fortunate enough to meet him if only for a moment.
Russell was an active member of Lakeview Baptist Church where he attended regularly. Russell was a member of Local 630 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union. Russell was a lifelong fisherman, car enthusiast and racing fan. He enjoyed football, woodworking, gardening and staying active. Russell regularly volunteered his time at Habitat for Humanity and also enjoyed supporting Atlantic High School athletics and marching band where his children attended and participated. He was especially proud of his Baptist Missionary trip to Belize where he helped build homes for the less fortunate.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Wyatt Greene, his daughter Amy Leigh Greene and son Jonathan Wyatt Greene (all of Delray Beach), his sister Rosemarie Spence, his sister Carolyn Clarke, his brother Tommy Greene, his brother Kenny Greene, his brother Martin Greene, his sister Nancy Kline, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Rosalee Greene, and nephew Chip O'Hara.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013 11:00AM at Lakeview Baptist Church, 2599 N. Swinton Ave., Delray Beach.
