Sally Mason Kraus of Rochester Hills, MI and Lantana, FL passed away peacefully on September 18th, 2025 at age 91 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Sally is predeceased by her parents Mary Anne (Cooke) and Charles R. Kimball, her husbands Bernard G. Mason and Thomas J. Kraus, and her stepson Richard Kraus.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle (Mason) and son-in-law Lon Otremba; beloved grandchildren Charlotte (Lonnie Nunley) and William (Magdalena Ramos); along with her loving stepchildren, including Paul and Ivy Kraus.

Sally was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in the Detroit, Michigan area, graduating from Berkley High School. Sally was a favorite at each of her occupations through the years, but her eventual long-term career was with Oakland Community College, where she retired from the practical nurse program. Sally enjoyed entertaining, traveling, music and the arts, spending time with family and friends, and living an active, outdoor lifestyle.

A long-time resident of Royal Oak and then Rochester Hills, Sally was a social butterfly, beloved by many for her sense of humor and warmth of presence. She volunteered with various charities throughout her marriages to Bernie and Tom and was a devoted member of her local Catholic Church Saint Irenaeus, along with the Detroit Symphony, Meadow Brook Hall, and OCCARP.  She eventually relocated to Lantana, FL from Rochester Hills, MI in 2018 to be near her daughter, Michelle.
