Samuel Fred "Poppy" Purvis, was born in Valdosta Georgia on April 15, 1937 and passed away at his home in Boynton Beach Florida on August 9th 2021.

Sam is survived by his son, Samuel Purvis II, daughter April Purvis, grandchildren, Amelia Purvis-La Salle, Autumn Doxsee, and Samuel Purvis III "Lillian". His great grandchildren Adonis Purvis, Aubrielle and Aurora Doxsee. He was predeceased by his parents Lelius and Mae Chapmen.

Sam was fun loving and gentle. He was jokester with a kind heart. He was a protector, provider, and a good friend to others.  He was always there for his family and was an active member of his church. He was a hard worker and always had a smile on.

Friends may call on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 10:00AM to 11:00 AM at the Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Ave. (North Federal Highway), Delray Beach, FL with a funeral service at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Sam will be laid to rest at Palm Beach Memorial Park next to his wife, Claudia "Penny" Purvis.
