Obituary

Sarah Brennan, 43, of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away Wednesday, September 9th, 2015 at her home. She was born in Hinsdale, Illinois on August 31, 1972 and spent her early years in Clarendon Hills, IL, Jacksonville, FL and Winnetka IL, graduating from New Trier High School, Winnetka, where she excelled at Cello in the Symphony Orchestra. During this period Sarah also progressed in the Girl Scouts of America and earned the prestigious Silver Award.

Sarah graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in Public Policy, and was a key member of management at KUSF, then the leading alternative radio station in the Bay Area. She also attended graduate school at New York University. Utilizing her Public Policy education Sarah became a key staff member for both State and U.S. Senators representing the State of New York.

In addition to being the first to volunteer for any worthy cause, Sarah had the kindest of hearts and her passion for children and animals was prevalent throughout her life. She was an extremely loving and dedicated mother to her two beautiful, young daughters, Olivia and Annika. She also had a special love for all animals and found comfort in their unconditional love, especially from her dog "Luna." Of all that Sarah accomplished in life, nothing compared to her love for her two girls.

She is survived by her husband Donald Shope, her two beautiful daughters, Olivia Brennan Shope (10) and Annika Brennan Shope (6), two sisters Elizabeth (Liz) Brennan and Catherine (Kate) Brennan Newman and her father, Bernard (Bernie) Brennan. She is preceded in death by her mother, Tamara (Tamie) Swenson Brennan.
