Obituary

Scott Douglas McGee, 64, of Delray Beach and formally of Bethesda, Maryland passed away on August 2, 2021. Scott is survived by his sister, Kathy, brother Clark (Felicia), his nieces, Callie and Lexi, his daughter Molly (Michael Knight), and grandson, Judah Matthew. He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Patricia and his son, Scott Jr. He is also survived by his former wife, Beth McGee.

Scott was easy-going, laid-back, gentle and kind. Always looking for the positive in every situation and with a quick smile, he never seemed to be angry, sad, or discouraged. He looked on the bright side of things, and he wanted everyone to be happy, just like his parents.

Scott grew up in Bethesda, Maryland with his parents, brother Clark, and sister Kathy. Scott attended Harker Prep, and eventually went on to work with his father at McGee & Co. Inc. and Executone, before landing a job with Marriott Co. His two children, Scott Jr., and Molly, were both born in Maryland, to Beth and Scott, and together as a family, they moved to Orlando, Florida in 1994 where he continued working for Marriott Vacation Club.

Scott was a unique guy, a "social butterfly," and he seemed to know or quickly become friends with someone wherever he went. It was easy to have a conversation with him, and he was always eager to help with any house projects. Whether it was installing solar panels, setting up a satellite, or giving his daughter insulin injections, he was always Mr. Fix-it, and Dr. Daddy, as Molly recalls.

He had a knack for technology and science, always intrigued by how things worked and putting things together. He was also a talented golfer, playing with, and taking Scott Jr. to tournaments around Florida. Scott Jr. learned how to play from him, but then far surpassed his dad by beating him time and time again!

As his friends and family recall, he was an expert whistler, rock-skipper, and Ledo's pizza aficionado. Although his last few years were hard, especially with the passing of his son, Scott Jr. on May 5, 2021, he always loved, always cared, and always wanted the best for his family.

Both Scott Sr. and Scott Jr. will be remembered for their smiles, their joy, and optimistic outlook on life. They are eternally at rest, in no more pain or struggle and are forever with our Lord and Savior, in Heaven.

Both Scott Sr. and Scott Jr. will be laid to rest in Boynton Beach Mausoleum, in Boynton Beach, Florida on August 13, 2021.
