Obituary

Steven Kontzamanys, of Boynton Beach, Florida and formerly of Brooklyn, New York, a devoted husband, father and proud U.S. Marine veteran, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2024, at the age of 91. His unwavering commitment to duty, love for family, and resilience in the face of life's challenges left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Born in 1932, Steven grew up during a time of great change. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Korean war as a staff sergeant and serving for multiple years. His fellow Marines remember him as the proudest Marine they'd ever met. Steven's dedication to his country was unwavering, and he carried the spirit of the Corps with him throughout his life.

Steven and his beloved wife, Connie, shared a love that spanned seven decades. Their inseparable bond was a testament to enduring love and commitment. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in June 2023, a milestone that touched the hearts of everyone who knew them.

In recent years, Steven faced health challenges. His eyesight began to fail, and his beautiful A-fib heart were a couple issues he faced head on. Despite his struggles, he still bowled, loved watching the NY Giants and NY Mets and would lend a hand to anyone that needed an extra one. His final wish was to be buried at a National Cemetery, a fitting tribute to his military service and love for his country. Steven leaves behind a legacy of honor, sacrifice, and love.

He is survived by his wife Connie, their two daughters:Hope & Linda, one son: George, two sons-in-law: Rex & Anthony,  one daughter-in-law: Sandra and nine grandchildren. His family remains in a state of disbelief, grappling with the loss of a man who touched their lives profoundly.

A funeral liturgy service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 11:30AM at St. Mark Greek Orthodox Church, 2100 Yamato Road, Boca Raton, FL 33431.  Visitation will be held at the church from 11 AM to 11:30AM.  Interment with military honors will be held at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7/441, Lake Worth Florida 33449 at 2PM in Lane 1.
