Therese Ann Schwender Gergora

Therese "Terry" Gergora, age 53, of Boynton Beach and formerly of Orange Park, Florida passed away peacefully on April 20, 2012 after a courageous 2 year battle with Breast and Brain Cancer. Terry was born on February 17, 1959 in Dayton, Ohio. She was a cheerful giver and brightened the world for all that knew her. Terry was a loving mother and wife who cherished her family. Terry walked by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and lived life to the fullest. She taught CCD, religious education, for many years to Catholic children attending St Thomas More (Boynton Beach) and St Matthew Catholic Church (Lake Worth). She served as a Eucharistic Minister as well. Terry recently joined the workforce after raising our boys and enjoyed her employment with Costco in Boca Raton. She donated to many charitable organizations throughout her life and led our family to sponsoring two under privileged children. Largely attended Holiday gathering were some of Terry's most valued treasures. She will be loved forever, missed dearly, and never forgotten. Our sadness at Terry's passing is lessened by our knowing that she has been blessed with the gift of salvation as promised by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Terry is survived by her husband Michael and sons Michael and Stephen; her mother Adrienne Schwender, sisters Adrienne Sache, Marian Teel, and Diana Miller; brothers George and Joe Schwender and many nephews and nieces.
Friends may call on Friday, April 27, 2012 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM & 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 N.E. 6th Ave. (N. Federal Highway), Delray Beach, Florida. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 12:00PM at St. Mark Catholic Church, 643 St. Mark Place (NE 4th Ave.) Boynton Beach, FL. Terry's Life Celebration Reception will follow the funeral service from 1:30PM to 4:00PM at Boca Raton Fire Rescue Auditorium, 6500 Congress Avenue, Boca Raton, Florida. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mayo Clinic Cancer Research Gifts and mailed to Mayo Clinic Department of Development (Davis 160) 4500 San Pablo Road, Jacksonville, FL 32224. On the memo line and/or include a note stating that the gift is to be designated to: Cancer Research at MCF in memory of Therese A. Gergora.
