Traci Lynn Sparks, age 51, of South Palm Beach, Florida, born in Lexington, Kentucky on July 30, 1962, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013 after a long illness. Traci was a graduate of Bryan Station High School in Lexington where she led her girls basketball team to the finals. She then received a college softball scholarship to Palm Beach Community College. They also, were led to the finals with Traci at the pitching mound. She went on to graduate with a business degree. Traci was offered a job with Jeff Industries in Lantana in their mental health field where she helped those who needed a little push to get and keep a job. Her group loved her as their job coach!! Her pleasures included going to the beach, all kinds of music and was an avid UK Wildcat fan! Traci was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Sparks Griffin. She is survived by her partner, Millie Rodriguez; father, James Sparks (Donna); 3 sisters, Teri Townsend-Knuth (Greg), Tessa LaChapelle and Lisa Slover (Brian); 1 brother, Jamie Sparks (Kerri); 3 nephews, Ryan Sparks, Kyle LaChapelle and Austin Slover; 2 nieces, Sunny Townsend (Eric) and Alexandria Slover; 1 great-nephew, AJ Griffin and 1 great-neice, Ryleigh Griffin and her Godparents, Doug and Mary Patrick. Traci also leaves behind many wonderful friends who loved her as we, her family, did. A memorial service will be held for Traci at Lorne and Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Ave (Federal Hwy Northbound), in Delray Beach, FL on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest that donations be made in Traci's name to Hospice of Palm Beach County at 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
