Vernell Peak, age 86, of Delray Beach, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 7, 2019. Along with her husband, Mr. Roosevelt Peak they moved to Delray Beach in 1954 coming from her birth town of Quitman, Georgia. Vernell was employed with the Boca Raton Hotel & Club for 25 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter,  Dorothy (Lester) Hickman; grandchildren, Shayla (Michael) James, Jimmie Lee Peak Jr., Clarissa Peak, Kevin (Nicole)Hickman and Jeremy Peak; great-grandchildren, Jimmie III, Tasha, Lanard, Rakiya, Reginald, Cordele, Jeremy Jr., Nathaniel, Marton, Kenny and Terell; niece, Phyllis Tyson; sisters in law, Fronie Mae, Shirley, Eunice, Laila Mae; brother in law, Willie; cousin, Tommy Sloan of Boca Raton, Florida and two dear friends, Mamie Neal of Deerfield Beach and Beverly Wilson of Delray Beach. Vernell is preceded in death by her son, Jimmie lee Peak Sr.

A home going celebration for Vernell Peak will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM  at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home,  745 NE 6th Avenue (Northbound Federal Highway) Delray Beach, Florida 33483. Urn burial will follow at the Delray Beach Memorial Gardens Municipal Cemetery, 700 SW 8th Avenue, Delray Beach, Florida 33446.
