William Francis "Bill" Koskie passed away peacefully after a brief illness on September 28, 2014 at the age of 91. Bill was born on August 8, 1923 in Paterson, New Jersey, the son of William and Ellen Koskie. He attended local schools and then enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He served our country proudly in the South Pacific and Japan. Upon completion of his military service, he returned home and married the love of his life, Zaba Collodel. They moved to Florida in the late 1940's and with the birth of their daughter, Barbara, became a family. Bill retired from Southern Bell after a 33 year career and later obtained a general contractor's license. He was one of the first parishioners of St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Delray Beach and was active in its Men's Club and Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus (Trinity Council) in Boynton Beach and served as Grand Knight. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Zaba and their adoring daughter, Barbara. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 6th, 2014 at 11:00AM at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Blvd, Delray Beach, FL 33483. Burial with military honors will follow at the South Florida National Cemetery at 12:45PM. He will be greatly missed until we see him again in Heaven. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation, 12902 Magnolia Drive, MBC-FOU Tampa, FL 33612.
