Obituary

Winifred M. "Winnie" Heller, 81, of Delray Beach, FL and formerly of Long Valley, NJ, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of October 17, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loved ones and friends.  She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Ed, her younger brother, Richard and her parents, Mary and Richard Madden.  Winnie is survived by her daughters Eileen and MaryBeth; sons Ed and his wife Leslie and Richard and his wife Carla and her many grandchildren Michael, Samantha, Tyler, Will, Chelsea, Olivia, Brandon and Ryan.

As the daughter of an Irish Catholic immigrant, Winnie grew up in the Bronx, New York and married the "boy next door" in 1965.  She was eventually whisked away to the suburbs of New Jersey to raise her family in Long Valley, NJ until her retirement to Delray Beach, FL in 1999.  She was a selfless woman, guided by her faith, who dedicated her life to her family.  She was also fiercely loyal, always willing to lend a hand or an ear to her many lifelong friends.  As her friends can attest, her quick Irish wit, sharp tongue, and "tough" love manner will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

The funeral service and internment will be a private ceremony of immediate family members at Gate of Heaven in Hawthorne, NY.  A celebration of her life in her local Delray Beach retirement community will be announced and held in the future.
